What domain prowler would steal snowcms.com?
#2 by Anonymous at June 7th, 2009
HA! 1 year and you still have not done anything worth while! Not to mention, half of your code rips from SMF! It’s hilarious! You’re so ashamed of this piece of shit code that you must use WordPress as a site! Pathetic! I’ve seen more skill come from 5 year old children in a sandbox with nothing more than a sift.
I must say, I had such high hopes for this project, oh well. Back to a better but more insecure CMS for me.
~ Administrative comment:
I would like to not approve this comment, but that would be even worse than what you have said here. First off, I would like to let you know many websites use WordPress. Secondly, absolutely no code comes from SMF, that would be against the SMF license… The only thing I (aldo) get from SMF is inspiration, seeing as SMF is such a wonderful forum software I like to remember how SMF does it, and do it in a SMF about way.
I feel sorry for whoever you may be, but you should be ashamed of yourself and what you have done. Thank you for your “wonderful” comment, and I certainly hope you got what you wanted, yourself looking like a jackass.
PS: xMop, Mop, whatever you know him by, he says for you to grow the f*** up. (Though Mop didn’t censor it himself, I don’t like to cuss to much myself, because I am not like you Mr. Anonymous…)

@Anonymous:
I’d just like to add that a very large portion of SnowCMS’s code comes from me (In v0.7, which would be the version you’ve seen, at least 50%, file size wise) and I’ve barely seen SMF code. While I have fiddled with it, nothing substantial and without looking it up I couldn’t really tell you anything about the SMF code.
I can also completely assure you the reason we are using WordPress is indeed because I accidently deleted the config.php file which contains the database info. Abstr (Andrew0493) was chatting with me at the time actually and SnowCMS’s site wouldn’t have been down for an entire weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday AEST) if that hadn’t been the case.

@Anonymous:
I’d just like to add that I’m a Snow developer and designer, and that, unlike our other admin, aldo, I hate SMF. Now, tell me, why would I ever copy it?

I wouldn’t worry about it guys, the guy probably has no idea how to code himself, and is just spouting crap/ He sort of admitted himself that he doesn’t know code….
So in his opinion… if you know how to code don’t use WordPress…… I’ll get to that in a minute but for the current point….
So he’s just admitted right there that he doesn’t know how to code himself, at least not very well anyhow…but a lot of coding gods actually use WordPress.
Mark Shuttleworth’s Blog: http://www.markshuttleworth.com/
Amongst a lot of others… WordPress is used a lot by programmers since they don’t have to create all that code from scratch when there’s already software to do it perfectly…why reinvent the wheel is a popular saying amongst programmers…the idiot just proved his/her own ignorance.

Meh, it will just be some little kid that wishes he could code…

Wow, it’s pretty pathetic, and you can definitely tell someone has no life when they try to start a fight on the internet. A favorite quote of mine: “Fighting online is like winning the Special Olympics, even if you win you’re still retarded.”

Hey, wait a second, woah. I just realized, Snow was 1 year old on March 6. That’s when I started on my (crappy) version.

I love how when someone attacks someone else they are considered pathetic. You all know damn well you attack things, as well as I know. The fact is, I know everything.
What can describe SnowCMS? Ok, an SMF based piece of shit that looks shitty, has it’s code ripped off of things like SMF, fails at every single thing including the most basic things.
Love the topic you made on 110mb. Do you really think with all the advanced technology these days you would at LEAST figure out who could make such “foul” comments? Of course not. There are thousands of proxies.
God, I love when people try to bump their hopes up by trying to ignore such comments. I know the comments are stinging you, otherwise you would have not made that topic.
Oh well. Tootles.
Love,
Anonymous

Okay, a**hole, first things first. Absolutely NONE of our code is from SMF. Although it may be somewhat inspired by SMF’s functionality, it is not a direct code copy. In fact, never in the development of Snow did we look at actual SMF code.
Second, we could easily send a note, or a C&D order to your lovely host to have your proxies shut down.
It is not considered pathetic when someone attacks someone else. It is considered pathetic to have an anonymous coward attack something with baseless claims and no experience with the product he’s attacking.

@Anonymous: How old are you? 12? 14? Because you certainly act like an immature twat.
1. “You all know damn well you attack things” I NEVER attack things except in retaliation and you do NOT know everything.
2. SMF inspired – probably. SMF based – possibly. SMF ripped – no fucking way.
3. “Piece of shit” – Have you ever actually used it?
4. “looks shitty” – No it doesn’t, as I said “Have you ever actually used it?”
5. “Fails at every single thing” – Wow you must be so intelligent, spewing out total crap like that.
6. “Love the topic you made on 110mb.” – Well done you can read.
7. “Do you really think with all the advanced technology these days you would at LEAST figure out who could make such “foul” comments? Of course not. There are thousands of proxies.” – Why the hell would we want to know who you are. So we can have a nice intelligent discussion. Oh wait I forgot you’re a retard.
8. “There are thousands of proxies.” – So why did you chose to use one hosted at your webhost. We could quite easily contact them and have your account banned.
9. “God, I love when people try to bump their hopes up by trying to ignore such comments. I know the comments are stinging you, otherwise you would have not made that topic.” – Why would the ramblings of an idiot “sting” us?

Hey guys, this is manicgames. Recently I read about the topic that had the previous post made by this person.
Someone came forth today, and thought that the people at eoCMS were doing this. I ignored these claims for a while, until this post was made today, which someone (unnamed) told me that someone was posting vicious comments about your work.
I would like to state that NONE and I mean absolutely NONE of our team members would ever post such foul things. I asked every team member about this, and none confessed to it, nor did anybody really even know who did it.
Good luck on the project, and sorry for this arrogant jerk-off.
Best.

Thank you manicgames
Sorry that someone accused your team of doing such a thing. I guess it is just because we are both kind of from the same place and we are both working on CMS’s, so of course, people think, it must be the other doing it.
Thanks again… And good luck to you as well

Right, it was some days/weeks ago, but I do want to refer to it.
First of all: “5 years old child” <- Well, You? I am 13, and know people, who are even younger, and can write propely, and behave good on the Internet.
And, right, uh_Iforgot pointed nice thing.
"Have you actually used it?" I can say, that absolutely not, because nearly everybody here seen it/used it, and nearly everything was working fine.
And proxies… You can use it, by writing comments like those, under them, you show us, how weak you are.
Yes, I maybe repeated what somebody said, but I just had to (Once again) write about that.
